Super Saturday: The Final Countdown

Oh man, don't you just love these late updates? I'll tell you, today I've got an excuse for it, though! Hang onto your socks and get your selfies ready, because -- hang on. I just realized that we don't have socks. Hrm, I'm going ot need to come up with something new now. Hang onto your... toes? -- My word, we don't have toes either.
The point is, this update is pretty darn awesome. In fact, it is the second of three Major Alpha Milestones!
As we told you a while ago, there are three main hurdles to conquer throughout Alpha development. First, we had out loading system. (Check!) Next, we have Estates (Double Check!). And finally, the third and final hurdle is the Battle System. (Not so check.) You heard me right, folks. Construction of toon houses is finally completed!.
Each toon of Toontown has been given an area of private land for their own house, along with some nearby houses for close friends and family to move into. They come in various colors, too! I'm telling you, it's true art to look at.
Speaking of true art -- Actuallyyy! I'm going to do a cliffhanger here and stop talking about what I was about to mention. Get excited! Wait a few paragraphs and you'll see what it is. Instead, I'm going to burst your bubble for a moment and clarify that we aren't providing furniture for houses. Mostly because it turns out that there are no furniture stores whatsoever in all of Toontown. But hey: At least you have the floor. And uh, walls. Ceiling too- can't forget the ceiling. So I'd say that you've got a pretty good house going on there.
Now, let's get back to that true art. Open up your handy-dandy Shtickerbook, and tell me what you see. Are you seeing it? You bet you are. The Shticker Book now has a brand new Snapshots Page to manage the various selfies you take around Toontown. Right now you can view all photos you have taken, as well as give them captions to find them with ease. This just the beginning, though. We have some big plans for this page in the upcoming future, and we can't wait to hear your feedback to make it better.
Stick around this week, as we have some pretty awesome stuff to unveil for Estates, the Snapshots page, and much more. We're in the final stretch of alpha, folks, and these last set of updates will be the best yet!

Maintenance:
• Major Update: Estates, one of the more complex parts of Toontown, are now complete!
• Change the in-game cursor to a glove, as it was in Disney's Toontown
• Add an icon to the game window
• Switch screenshots back to JPG due to some kinks in the client
• Code cleanup
Bugfixes:
• Fix an issue with friend request timeouts
Features
• Implement basic Toon Estates
Currently, estates don't have too many features other than a private place to talk and explore. More and more features for estates will arrive in the coming days. The main hurdle here was completing the loading system for estates, which is fairly complex.
• Add a new page to the Shtickerbook: Snapshots!
• You can now view all snapshots you have taken in-game from the Shtickerbook
• Add ability to rename and delete snapshots
• Add button to open your TTR screenshot folder

To improve the estates maybe you can make it so you can spend jellybeans to link one friends estates to yours. and you can add as many friends to the estate complex (plz call it that :3) as you can. either make them pay all times but with less jellybeans for 3, 4, 5, so on, or you only have to pay once, but either way all need approval and be able to unlink it. But it's just an idea and i know i'm rambling by this point so just experiment with it a little if you think it's a good idea.

Maybe you could actually make the friends houses come true. Have friends and family be at the same estate if both toon agrees on it.

And so my thirst for toontown updates is quenched. Oh my god, guys, you are all amazing. I can only imagine how hard estates would be, and your next daunting task will be even harder. Battles. I can't believe we are even NEAR this point, it's been no time at all, and I am so excited for the final strech of alpha to be cleared and for the beta to start up soon. And that snapshot page sounds wonderful, you have no idea how many pics I had of odd glitches that I just could never find in some odd part of my computer. Seriously. I don't think there is anyone here that would disagree, you guys are saints.

I don't care if Alpha is stretched out for months longer! You guys are making great progress; implementing in a matter of months what took Disney 10 years to do. I'm sure your own ideas will be even better; keep up the good work!

Snapshots Page? That's a pretty cool and helpful feature for the Shtickerbook. I love the fact that you added a button where you can automatically open the folder that contains your screenshots, not having to manually go into your program files like in the original game. Keep up the good work guys. ?

I'm so excited. Can't wait to get back to Toontown. My 6 year old sister and 3 year old brother have been begging me to play toontown again and I keep saying it will come soon; I remember the days when I would sit there for hours with 2 laptops playing with them, those were the days... I'm just glad you guys are progressing,

There is a small problem with this. And that is a car from the race tracks had run through my house, apparently it was on the road, and completely destroyed it. So, for future advice, don't build near race tracks. just saying.

Finally houses have come! It was always so fun to edit my estate. But i hope you can make the limited amount of items you can have in an estate higher just like friends.

So glad you guys are working so hard on this. I introduced toontown to my six year old nephew and a few months later when it left it wasn't easy to explain that to him. I can't wait to share that he can play again. I hope the family that played together over the states is keeping track of your progress, because it would be nice to know that the grandmother was playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren again :-)

Man this is so exciting! I can't wait to get in to TTR and have a BLAST! I'm already planning on recreating my old main toon, along with finally making and maxing a toon with drop!!! Keep the pies flying!

The pace you guys are working at is amazing. I was playing Toontown since it released in 2003 when I was 7, and played it off and on until it closed, and am still a die-hard fan of it. I can't wait for it to come into beta stage so more people can get a first hand look at the work you guys are putting into this game. Everyday I look at this site, waiting for posts like this. Cannot wait.
