Electoral Update: A Not-so-Quick Q&A

Posted by Sir Max on March 23, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Heyo, toons. Sorry for the late post today, but I wanted to hold out until I had as much information as possible to compile into the post. After a bunch of sleeping and a few of Flippy's famous pies: I got nothing.

What I do have, however, is a Q&A! Not a quick one like the last time, either, but only because you get to ask the questions! Tomorrow at 2:00PM Toontown Time I'll be joining our one of our team's texture artists, Slate, for a live voice Q&A on her channel. For those of you who don't know Slate, she has been keeping the community up to date with all things Toontown by livestreaming almost every update since we began. If you don't have a key to our town and want to take a look at how things progress, she has a lot of videos you can watch while you wait for your chance at one of those precious keys.

As for the election, we don't want to make any promises on a date yet. While I have high doubts that it will take a long time to release, we really don't want to let anyone down anymore. I'll keep you posted with things as we go along in fixing these final problems and finally releasing our awesome event. Like the team said yesterday, on the bright side, we now have some more time to throw in a few things that we weren't able to do originally.

In the meantime, if you are an alpha tester I encourage you to join the IRC Channel #toontownrewritten on GameSurge to help us out with some testing. Too Many Secrets and some of the other Troopers are getting a bunch of toons together to stress test our servers so we can track down the root of this problem and put a stop to it. Even if you aren't an alpha tester, I still recommend joining the channel for a nice chat with other toons about Toontown.

That's all for now, folks. I'll be sure to keep you posted with updates as we get them. If you're feeling a bit down from the recent news, I recommend reading this little post by myself to give you a refresher of what has been going on with us lately. See you soon!

The game is coming along great! Although right now I can't play it, reading these posts and watching youtube videos give me a pretty good idea how awesome you guys are doing.

It seems that all good deeds at least have big troubles as they take place. It's incredibly kind that you are doing this, And that's just how the world works. I'm ready to wait next year if I need to. Keep it up! -To have a key or to not have a key... That is the question. Congrats to the 100 winners!

Melody Spacklequack said on March 23, 2014 at 9:23 PM
Thanks for the update. Glad you got a little sleep, and hope you can get some more. You guys deserve it! Honestly!

Congrats for what you have done. It seems thank you doesn't seem enough to say for the time and effort you all are putting in. But, as with all the young players, us old, (er) players are looking forward to Beta as well. Hope to see you there. THANK YOU and a vote for Flippy is a vote for...Flippy

Sir Max, you and the TTR Team are the ones making this game, not the rest of us. I read your post from the link and commented. Take your time. This could have been worse if you rushed it all together. I'm glad you guys are taking your time. If you can just fix up the election everything will be back to normal! I support you! Good luck! I'll also be waiting on the winner! Flip for Flippy!

I wasn't too upset about the stream being canceled, and this is great news. I will be sure to join the channel because waiting for TTR on these things is a great way to meet new toony friends and maybe find your next ingame best friend. I will always be as patient as possible and cant wait until the problem is fixed. Those 6 hours i was watching the stream i promise were not wasted as well, i made some new friends in the chat too! :)

You guys are like my mother, you give apologies for things that are completely out of your hands. You guys aren't being paid or forced to do this. If you wanted you could just walk away. But you won't, you're doing this out of pure love for the game and its community. I prefer you go at your own pace and polish updates, don't just race to get everything out as fast as possible, ignore those people that think everything has to be fast and flawless. Can't wait for the next news post. :D

Though I was disappointed at first, I realized you can't just put a few codes in a generator and *POOF* you instantly get a perfect hack-less toontown rewritten. I know you guys are working as hard as possible and I support 100%

Sugarcube said on March 26, 2014 at 6:11 PM

Hello everyone at the TTR team,. I would just like to say I (and I am sure many other toons) appreciate all the hard work to bring back our childhood memories. I remember I used to play this game a lot and I was vey upset when I heard the fate of ToonTown. I just really wanted to say thank you for reconsturcting our hopes, dreams and memories of the beloved ToonTown. I hope that the Alpha is finished soon so that everyone can relive thier childhoods. Regards, Phoenix
